The i5-7600K targets high end gamers, it sits just behind the flagship i7-7700K in Intel’s Kaby Lake lineup. The 7600K will likely be the most popular gaming CPU of 2017 (some competition from AMD’s upcoming Zen/Ryzen CPUs, would be very welcome). Comparing the 7600K and 6600K shows that the two processors are very closely matched and comparing the 7600K vs the hyper-threaded 7700K highlights the relative strength of the 7700K for workstation performance. There are no significant architectural differences between Kaby Lake and Skylake so, when fully overclocked, the two generations should perform similarly but Kaby Lake offers faster base clocks, improved speed shift technology which helps CPU responsiveness, and better integrated graphics[Jan '17 CPUPro]

Was a great CPU for it's time. Overclocking recently helped squeeze out another few good months but this processor's finally starting to show its age. Only reason I haven't upgraded is because of the hassle of putting in a new motherboard

Single and Quadcore performance of a 7700k for 100$ less, the best gaming focused processor

Excellent

I own one myself, and the overclockability as well as the overall speed is very good, especially for this price.

Built my PC around it before I got into the used hardware market and it holds up very well. Unlocked, but I have to say, it's a bit expensive.

Excellent

Can get to 5.2 ghz stable easily, and can get to 5.3 ghz and run some benches. Mind you this is with only a hyper 212 evo...! This thing is a quad thread BEAST!

Very good

Currently @5.0gHz stable over days at 1.375 volts. 70c at full load with 212 evo. Picked up from Micro Center for $199. Recommended!
