Intel’s Core i7-9700K is an unlocked 9th generation Coffee Lake CPU. It is an 8 core, 8 thread processor. The 9700K features 12 MB of cache, a 95W TDP and Intel UHD 630 graphics. Like the other 9th generation chips, it is compatible with Intel’s new Z390 chipset as well as last years Z370 chipset (with an updated BIOS). The 9700K has stock base / boost clocks of 3.6 / 4.6 GHz and a single core boost of 4.9 GHz (compared to 3.6, 4.7 and 5.0 GHz for the flagship 9900K). This translates to almost identical single, quad and octa core performance between the 9900K and 9700K. Mainstream PC games do not benefit from more than six threads, so at $350 (25% cheaper than the 9900K), the 9700K offers far better value for money to gamers. That said gamers have very little reason not to consider the i5-9600K which, when overclocked, offers almost equivalent performance but at a 35% discount[Oct '18 CPUPro]

It's a great processor paired with GTX 2070S

It may be a bit expensive, but the i7-9700K definitely scores with it's stunning single-core performance, even though it lacks hyperthreading. Its 8 cores can definitely are powerful for every type of task

Do any of you who are saying that its not have hiperthreading and only 8 cores know that it performs same that an 8700k with 6/12 threads? Moreover, gaming wise, a cpu with hiperthreading will ALWAYS perform better at gaming disabling it! Just get some information befor misguiding people

Even without hyperthreading, this CPU is great for most application due to having 8 cores. Hyperthreading only increases performance by 20% - 30% in highly multi-threaded workloads like video editing, virtual machines and running servers. Background apps like discord or chrome usually only consumes 1% - 5% of the CPU so hyperthreading will not make a difference in this scenario. Otherwise, it performs the same or sometimes even cause a slight decrease in performance in less threaded workload like games, for example. In fact, (some) games are more dependent on latency than the actual performance of the cores. The 9700k has one of the lowest latency cores in a CPU so for gaming, the 9700k is excellent and should be more than enough to futureproof as games are only recently optimizing for 6 cores, leaving headroom for future games that can use 8 cores. Overall the 9700k is a great value for the price (but it depends on where you live) if you game frequently on your computer and do not wish to bottleneck the next GPU you put in your system, something that will happen on the 3700x or 3600 for example, due to having high latency between cores.

I have this processor and its a beast!

Good for those who just want to game and squeeze out more performance. Not the best multitasking abilities though.

price SUCKS

Good

The cooling issue from previous generations is finally solved, and it's also gotten 8 cores now. Price is still a thing that has to be improved, but it definitely competes with AMD's Ryzen line-up.

Fast now but limited for the future by only having eight threads. AMD does not even offer gaming CPUs with less then 12 threads anymore.

Its coffee lake processor and i must use it because for gaming will be best than AMD

Poor

It does not seem to give a noticeable improvement over the 8700k.

Poor

The fact that they laucnhed it at a higher price than the 8700ks average launch price and the removal of Hyperthreading makes me question this "i7" in its name.

Poor

Come on, Intel. I usually choose you over AMD, but don't push me too far. Double the price for less threads and a wimpy performance gain? I don't think so.
