Average Bench: 84.4% (60th of 1147)

Based on 90,539 user benchmarks.  Device: 178BFBFF00800F11 Model: AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Processor

The AMD Ryzen 7 1700 is the least powerful of three new Ryzen 7 CPUs. The 1700 model has base and turbo clocks of 3.0 and 3.7 GHz respectively. Both of its more expensive siblings, the 1700X and 1800X, have higher clocks but they also have TDPs of 95 watts whereas the 1700 is rated at just 65 watts. Comparing IPC between Ryzen and Kaby Lake shows that Kaby Lake leads by a maximum of 9% which is great news for workstation users as this allows the 1700 to beat Intel's 6850K in multi-core workloads at almost half the price. Although the 1700 has great IPC it's somewhat limited by its relatively low (by Kaby Lake standards) clock speed which holds it back a little in both gaming and desktop workloads. For multi-core workstation use, the Ryzen 7 1700 represents the best value for money we have ever seen. [Mar '17 CPUPro]

I would have left a higher rating before Zen+ was released (and became the better alternative), but now that it has released i've seen that for about the same price (and possibly for less depending where you find it), the R5 2600 gives better single core and comparable quad core and multi core performance with better thermals and power efficiency

My favourite! So much power for your money and only 65W. This is the best deal on the world market. With this processor you can do all you want to do very fast and with pleasure - gaming, working, multimedia, all! This 8C/16T can be very well overclocked and are on the new platform. With this Ryzen you are ready for the future and there is no need to sell your house to buy R7 1700.—Mar '17

Good for benchmarks that use all the threads. Lacks performance while using single, dual and quad core programs. A lot of cores but not that fast. Next gen intel probably will have 6 core cpus much faster than r7 ryzens even in multi threaded tasks. You save time rendering videos and compressing files but lose performance in gaming, real time applications, like audio DAWS, photo and video editing, regular day tasks. While spending a few more minutes gives the same result while rendering, there is nothing you can do to make this thing have a faster response when needed.

telegram.me/ramin_rostami_trader boys boysssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss ON RYZEN ONLY USE DUAL CHANNEL NOT 2*SINGLE ON THREADRIPPR ONLY USE QUAD CHANNEL NOT 2*DUAL inside ram,(hardware ,IC and pcb )single, dual, quad not same ,completly diffrante ,, many people think = dual =2*single channel ram or quad =4* dual ram you must use only ram, write on box QUAD for threadripper (dual for ryzen) if you put wrong ram your system cant start , even if start , hiccops rip in windows, harm your cpu change your ram to this gskill ripjaws4 4*8 3200=250$ or gskil ripjaws4 4*4 2400=150$ See mulicore MC float of ryzen , it is exclent Boys Game 80% work with graphic card ,only 20% on cpu , games cant show cpu real power, they use only 1 unit in cpu(not all) So All game bench , for cpu test (on sites) are wrong and fake!!!!!? So dont belive CPU games frame rate tests on sites(see above picture and other cpu game bench exactly, in high quality like 4k results same Only only CINEBENCH 15 test can test all unit, core and show real world cpu power performance https://www.instagram.com/p/BRO-v8il9EI/ Dont belive intel fan, seller,,,they lie,,In real word like windows speed 1700(4ghz)=2*7700

Thank you, AMD. At the moment, for a cost of just $160 (USD) ($20 per core/$10 per thread), you can have an 8-core/16-thread CPU that rivals the multi-core performance of Intel's once mighty (exorbitantly price) $1,100 ($137.50 per core/$68.75 per thread) Core i7-6900K. If you're still buying Intel's processors at their ludicrous prices, you're probably either uninformed, not very bright, or extremely biased (a "fanboy"). With just a 65 watt TDP, the Ryzen 7 1700 is also far more efficient than any 8-core desktop processor ever produced before it (especially the very inefficient 140 watt TDP i7-6900K) and 2nd in performance-per-watt only to AMD's newer Ryzen 7 2700. Sure, this processor launched at $320, but you can't really blame AMD too much when the competition was charging over $1,000 for similar performance. Here's to AMD for making the desktop processor market exciting once again.

OC at 3.89 makes this far and away your best bang for your buck. Intel's most similar offering is triple the price, while AMD's flagship CPU; Ryzen 7 1800X priced at 50% more, barely eeks out any additional performance. Ryzen 7 1700 surpassed all of my expectations.

Its a good value for money. For my workload I need more cores and thats why i chose Ryzen. Also overclocking is not hard with Ryzen master. Single core rank can be higher, but still its a very powerfull piece with freat sustainability.

easy oc to 3.7Ghz with a bit of tuning got to 3.8, bios still could use some work on my mobo as I'm still only pushing 2667mhz on 3200mhz rated sticks from corsair. For anyone looking at a system that's more than just a gaming rig this CPU is a major contender with great price performance.

I got this back March of 2018. 8 cores and 16 threads for $194 is a steal! I can overclock it to 4Ghz for improved single-core performance, and it comes with a decent stock cooler (that I'm currently not using since I already had a Hyper 212 Evo on hand). I see it constantly see it on sale for $200 at major retailers (e.g. Amazon, Newegg). It's an offer that's hard to pass up for anyone who needs/wants many cores and threads at a very affordable price.
