The current gaming king, this 8 core 16 thread monster comes with 4.0GHz base clock with 5.0GHz all core boost but with TDP of 127W. Intel has matured the Skylake 14nm silicon enough to allow even higher clock, better stability and higher IPC, this CPU is refresh of the last-year i9-9900K which is the previous gaming king. This CPU can be overclocked to 5.2GHz all core but beefy air cooler is necessary to keep the CPU from overheating or open loop liquid cooling if you want to keep the CPU as warm as necessary.

Here's a i9-9900KS compared with last-gen processor giant i9-9990XE. Both of them comes with 4.0GHz base clock which can be boosted to 5.0GHz all cores but the former comes with 8 core 16 thread at $513 (MSRP) but sold at higher price currently while the latter comes with 14 core 28 thread at $3375 (auction estimated retail pricing) but only auctioned to few select OEM.
