The Core i7-6850K is one of four new Broadwell-E prosumer CPUs. This model has six cores with base and turbo frequencies of 3.6 and 4.0 GHz respectively. The 6850K is based on the 14 nm Broadwell-E architecture. It has a TDP of 140 watts, 40 PCIe 3.0 lanes and no integrated graphics. Because of its relatively high MSRP of around $700, this CPU only makes sense for niche use cases which could include top end graphics design or video production workstations. Comparing the 6850K and 6700K shows that for typical desktop use the 6850K only offers a gain of around 10% for a whopping two fold price increase. This is because desktop computing largely depends on single core performance and the Skylake i7-6700K is both clocked higher and has higher IPC due to its one generation lead over the 6850K. [Jun '16 CPUPro]

MORE DETAILS

The Core i7-4770K is Intel's fourth generation (codename Haswell) flagship processor in the hugely successful Core range. It's not surprising that the 4770K sets a new Real World Performance index record, besting its predecessor by just over 9%. The 4770K also tops out in the remainder of our benchmarks setting new highs of 10020 and 2164 in the PassMark and PassMark Single Thread tests which equates to roughly an 8% overall performance increase over the 3770K. With a TDP of 84 watts, power consumption has increased slightly over the 3770K. The new Core i7-4770K demonstrates around an 8% performance increase over its predecessor the 3770K but it costs 12% more. As a result, at least until prices drop, this processor represents marginally worse value for money than the 3770K. [Jun '13 CPUPro]

 Frequently Asked Questions

 Best User Rated

Why does UserBenchmark have a bad reputation on reddit?
Marketers operate thousands of reddit accounts. Our benchmarks expose their spiel so they attack our reputation.
Why don’t PC brands endorse UserBenchmark?
Brands make boatloads on flagships like the 4090 and 14900KS. We help users get similar real-world performance for less money.
Why don’t youtubers promote UserBenchmark?
We don't pay youtubers, so they don't praise us. Moreover, our data obstructs youtubers who promote overpriced or inferior products.
Why does UserBenchmark have negative trustpilot reviews?
The 200+ trustpilot reviews are mostly written by virgin marketing accounts. Real users don't give a monkey's about big brands.
Why is UserBenchmark popular with users?
Instead of pursuing brands for sponsorship, we've spent 13 years publishing real-world data for users.
