Based on 20,639 user benchmarks.  Device: 178BFBFF00630F01 Model: AMD Athlon(tm) X4 860K Quad Core Processor

The AMD Athlon X4 860K is a quad core budget processor. Released in mid 2014, the 860K is based on the steamroller architecture which also powers some of AMD's more recent APUs including the A10-7850K. In addition to a 3.7 GHz steamroller chip, the A10-7850K also includes integrated R7 graphics. Comparing the CPU performance of the A10-7850K and 860K shows that the two processors perform almost identically. A key comparable for the 860K is Intel's G3258 which is an unlocked dual core Pentium. Comparing the G3258 and X4 860K shows that the G3258 leads by as much as 70% for dual and single core workloads but the 860K outperforms the G3258 by around 20% on multi-core workloads. The G3258 wins hands down for Desktop computing which is heavily single and dual core dominated but for some (relatively rare) gaming workloads the X4 860K will outperform the G3258. [Mar '15 CPUPro]

Is a very good CPU is better a i3 and some i5

OC this CPU and you got a contender for an entry level eSports gaming rig. If you want AMD, pick up either Ryzen or this CPU, whichever fits your budget (mine was really low, so this 860k did nicely) (I recommend OCing RAM too if your mobo and VRMs can take it) Also really good non-OCed, but some heavier situations in games like Overwatch can sometimes prove a challenge for stock clock speed. For reference, I have mine OCed to 4GHz, 1.4V. runs cool on a Hyper 103, with highest temp being 53C

its perfect for overclocking experiments and for on-budget builds

Amazing CPU,with extra strong cores and overclock potential. Overclock go up to 6.3ghz without any problem. exelent for gaming, powerfull than many i5 Intel CPUs

very cheap quad core that will not bottleneck your gpu as long as your into 1080p gaming. keep in mind that the g3258 is stronger, but new games need more then dual cores so check what your game need and make the choise for your self.

Poor

it runs new games on low presets at 30fps, sometimes visible bottleneck.

Good basic quad core for office or light gaming and entertainment build. Overshadowed now by the hyperthreaded Intel G4560 dual core.
