The Intel Core i5-4460 is a slightly upgraded version of Intel's 2013 Haswell i5-4440. Comparing the i5-4460 and i5-4440 shows that the only change is an increase in both base and turbo frequencies from 3.4 to 3.5 GHz. In terms of effective speed the 4460 is exactly on a par with the average of the top ten user rated CPUs, not a bad result for an i5. Thanks to its four cores the 4460 is can easily deal with the vast majority of desktop computing (email, web browsing, word processing etc.). In fact this model is probably overpowered for the majority of users. Most users wont require the multi-core capabilities that the 4460 offers and will do better to choose a lower powered and cheaper CPU. [Jun '14 CPUPro]

This CPU is whey overpriced for what he does don't buy it

For the price, it offers perfect performance. I can play Watch Dogs on Ultra settings and all to max at full HD.—Nov '14

Actually it is pretty good processor. I can play some cpu intensive game comfortably, and of course low cost. But the low clock will be major disadvantages. when you running unoptimized app that using mostly 2 cores.

Good

It's good for most games but take care not to use it just with the stock gpu as the gpu will tremendously bottleneck the cpu!

Terrible

just don't you'll save some money by buying from amd like in the ryzen 3

Good

This is a cheap and fast CPU. I picked up three of them with motherboards, SSD, case, PS, and 16GB of RAM each for less than $1000.00. I use them for laboratories and they eat through virtualized workloads. It's a nice enough chip for playing with bigger things, like HortonWorks, Docker, etc.

its very good and cheap

Been using it since 2013 even playing BFV now in 2019 and runs great.

At least HP takes their prebuilt PCs seriously. Single core performance comparable to a Ryzen.

Been using this CPU for a year and I have a Stock intel cooler on it. Hottest it has gotten under full load with photo rendering and Video Rendering is 65c (149f) after 3 hour on 100% load with my room at 75f. I also game and i play csgo to mmo's to single player rpgs. I have had 0 problem with the CPU and having trouble replacing it because i got it so cheap and it performs so well. I love this little guy. may he rest in peace when i kill it or retire it to my NAS computer.

Excellent

lasted me years since 2015 and every gpu i pair does not bottleneck ,and for the encoding performance it should depend on the program and the format
