Based on 19,875 user benchmarks.  Devices: 178BFBFF00630F01, , 078BFBFF00630F01 Models: AMD A10-7850K APU with Radeon(TM) R7 Graphics, AMD A10-7850K Radeon R7, 12 Compute Cores 4C+8G

The A10-7850K is a fourth generation Kaveri CPU with an integrated GPU billed as AMD’s most powerful APU when it was released in January 2014. It combines four steamroller CPU cores and eight Radeon GPU cores. Despite it’s billing, raw performance proved to be underwhelming: the base/turbo clocks run at 3.7/4.0 GHz, leading to an effective speed of 63 which is actually lower than it's predecessor: the A10-6800K (full comparison). However combined with an SSD this would provide an acceptable experience for most desktop applications. The integrated R7 graphics are around 25% better than the 8670 Graphics in the A10-6800K. The A10-7850K makes for a reasonable entry-level gaming PC or HTPC. However if processing performance, especially single threaded, is required, then the i3-4360 is far superior. [Dec '14 CPUPro]

runs lots of games very well at a great price

Comment

For people using this with a discrete gfx card other than an r7 for dual gpu are wasting their money. This is designed for an integrated solution worth higher gfx via dual gpu. Cannot be rightly compared. This generation of apu truly integrated cpu and gpu, they share memory controllers. Now they just need to improve the actual cpu core architecture...—Jul '15

I usually run this "UserBenchmark" on all my systems. The graphics might seem low, But because of the new GTX 980 being the top dog, It has brought down all previous cards down a lot. My system with a10 7850k, 2133 ram and SSD runs fast. They need to separate APU and notebook graphics benchmarks from the powerful desktop systems. (imho) —Feb '16

Much faster in usage than expected - feels just as snappy as my i7 4790k

Serviceable for most people. Plays Minecraft, GMod, and similar older engined games well enough, but that's about it for its gaming capabilities. Held back by microarchitecture and process, upgrade to a Ryzen G series as soon as possible.
