The few months old AMD EPYC 7742 costs $6950 to be exact and comes with 64 cores and 128 threads, 2.25GHz base clock and 3.4GHz max boost clock, 128 PCIe 4.0 lanes, dual socket support and 8 memory channels. This CPU offers (ridiculously) excellent value for performance and offered slightly more performance than even Intel Xeon Platinum 9282 56 core 112 thread CPU at much lower price.
