The Pentium E6700 is one of the fastest LGA 775 platform CPUs, runs on a 1066 FSB which incrases its compatibility across many systems when compared to the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500. A smaller L2 cache hits its perfomance in programs like Photoshop and current AAA gaming on this CPU is a complete no go. This CPU on modern days is only for office tasks and web browsing. As upgrade of a Pentium D or Celeron D or a slower Core 2 CPU this CPU is highly recomended. Thanks to its 45nm process it can deliver a higher clock speed while mantaining a reasonable power draw. Sometimes named as Pentium Dual Core, this CPU has nothing from the Pentium 4 or Pentium D lineup and it's build on the Core 2 Duo architecture.
