If you just want an AM4 to upgrade later this is okay, 3300x is better. For low end 1080p gaming the 9100f is cheaper, although the 3100 will indeed net you a lot better performance just it's also quite a bit more expensive than the 9100f and thus arguably worse value for money, if budget is a concern, since getting a better GPU with the extra money might be better.

An amazing Budget CPU that beautifully pairs with either a GTX 1650 Super or a RX 5500XT, is fit enough for every game, this Processor shows that Qaud-cores are still alive and well.

Cheap and strong, very good for mid to high-mid gamers. Would recommend Ryzen 5 3600 or better for more expensive rigs.
