Average Bench: 50.1% (808th of 1459)

Based on 39,249 user benchmarks.  Devices: BFEBFBFF00040651, , 0000000000040651 Model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz

The Intel i7-4500U is a dual core, four thread 4th generation Haswell ultrabook processor. Its most impressive feature is a TDP of 15 Watts which typically yields over five hours of battery life. Despite the i7-4500Us relatively low effective speed of 66 (compared to the average of the leaders), the i7-4500U is perfectly adequate for handling the majority of day to day computing tasks, but it will struggle to deliver on CPU intensive tasks such as video editing and CAD. Gamers should obviously look elsewhere as despite the impressive desktop performance of the integrated HD 4400 graphics, 3D performance is far from adequate for modern games. If the battery life is a priority, then downgrading to the cheaper i5-4200U will deliver 15% more life but comparing the 4500U and 4200U shows that the 4500U is around 17% faster. [Nov '14 CPUPro]

Exellent CPU even barely better than i3 8th gen Blender Rendering

Terrible

I have been using it for the past 6 years, works perfectly fine.

Excellent

For daily use and office activities it’s ok, but not for games.

Good

The Intel Core i7-4500U has worked extremely well in my laptop for the past 7 years for office work, presentation and gaming. Only now starting to sloooww down. Time to research another work horse / gaming desktop replacement.

Slow in rendering and all other processor intensive tasks!

Very poor

It may not be the most powerful processor ever, but at least it is energy efficient... just don't expect to run heavy simulations very quickly.

Good

It is good if you don't want to play games with the integrated graphic card. 2021 and still working good with 16GB ram + ssd

 Frequently Asked Questions

 Best User Rated

Why does UserBenchmark have a bad reputation on reddit?
Marketers operate thousands of reddit accounts. Our benchmarks expose their spiel so they attack our reputation.
Why don’t PC brands endorse UserBenchmark?
Brands make boatloads on flagships like the 4090 and 14900KS. We help users get similar real-world performance for less money.
Why don’t youtubers promote UserBenchmark?
We don't pay youtubers, so they don't praise us. Moreover, our data obstructs youtubers who promote overpriced or inferior products.
Why does UserBenchmark have negative trustpilot reviews?
The 200+ trustpilot reviews are mostly written by virgin marketing accounts. Real users don't give a monkey's about big brands.
Why is UserBenchmark popular with users?
Instead of pursuing brands for sponsorship, we've spent 13 years publishing real-world data for users.
