Even though it may be the most powerful CPU in the market, it's not worth it for gaming―unless you want to stream and video render. This CPU will dominate any workstation load, but its single-core performance is much slower than an i7-8700k, i5-8600k, and i3-8350k. So, in a nutshell, this CPU is only meant for hardcore streaming and workstation computers. [Jun '18 specify_cs]

"Build to perform. Designed to win". Launched 25 November of 2019, this mighty 24 core 48 thread CPU boasts 88 PCIe 4.0 lanes (16 lanes used for high-speed interconnect, 176 PCIe 3.0 lanes effective), 142.25MB of cache, 3.8GHz base and 4.5GHz max boost clock with 280W effective TDP. This CPU competes well with entire of Intel HEDT and Xeon lineup thanks to unprecedented single core performance and insane multi core performance compared to all Intel HEDT CPUs. The new Threadripper 3000 series CPU is (in my opinion) classified as the Extreme High End Desktop (EHEDT) CPU as this CPU has both very high single core and multi core performance, high amount of PCIe lanes and L3 cache and clearly very high price (this CPU costs $1399.99 at launch) which ranks them above HEDT. [Nov '19 ColdSpy]
