The Intel Core i7-3770 is an Ivy Bridge processor. With four cores and eight threads the 3770 has excellent single , dual and multi-core performance. Comparing the 3770 to the 4770K shows that the 4770K leads by 11% at stock speeds and, thanks to an unlocked multiplier on the 4770K, by 15% at overclocked frequencies. The i7-3770 has a very strong performance profile which includes multi-core capabilities that are likely to be overkill for the majority of desktop users. The 12700K features a new hybrid architecture which combines eight hyper-threaded performance cores with four efficiency cores for a total of 20 threads. With an MSRP of $410 USD, the 12700K offers similar real world performance to the flagship i9-12900K, at a 30% price discount.
