The Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge processor is one of Intel's best performers to date. In terms of real world performance this processor offers far more than most users are likely to ever need. Scoring 2012 points on the PassMark Single Thread benchmark, the 3570K is within a few percent of the fastest processors currently available and at 77 watts TDP it's no energy hog either. The server orientated GeekBench and PassMark scores of 13920 and 7144 put the 3570K at just over the 50% marker in terms of total processing capacity compared to the other processors in the group test. For server based workloads more performance is available from the Core i7 range of processors but for typical consumer use this processor is already far more powerful than it needs to be. This CPU is incredibly well-placed for a refresh.
The i9 14900k(640 euros) offers similar performance to the i9 13900KS(800 Euros) while being available for much less money. The new gen motherboards are also much better.
So if you were thinking about getting the 13th gen i9 then the 14th gen is a no-brainer since it offers flawless performance for both gaming and productivity tasks.
This is especially true since AMD's "equivalent" 7950x3d is haunted by software bugs and "features" such as needing to have Xbox game bar open 24/7 and having their motherboards overvolt and kill the CPUs. [Oct '23MrNukes]
