Average Bench: 81.6% (72nd of 1147)

Based on 144,819 user benchmarks.  Device: 178BFBFF00800F11 Model: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Six-Core Processor

The Ryzen 5 1600 is one of four new Ryzen 5 processors released this month. Based on the AMD Zen architecture, which is comparable to Intel in terms of IPC, the Ryzen 5 1600 has six cores which is more than the vast majority of games are able to use (most games cannot use more than four cores). Ryzen 5 CPUs offer gamers better value for money than the eight core Ryzen 7 models released last month. With six cores the 1600 is approximately 75% better at multi-threaded tasks than Intel's quad core i5 flagship – the similarly priced i5-7600K, the 1600 however, has 25% lower single and 33% lower quad core scores. The 1600 has stock base/boost clock speeds of 3.2/3.6 GHz and its price tag of $219 includes a cooler. Assuming a modest overclock of 10% brings the 1600 within striking range of the 1600X which is the Ryzen 5 flagship. The 1600X sports stock base/boost clocks of 3.6/4.0 GHz but costs $30 more than the 1600 and ships without a cooler included in the box. The Ryzen 5 1600 is the best value for money six core CPU we have seen to date. [Apr '17 CPUPro]

The price of Ryzen processors in Brazil has a cost benefit. Intel processors are absurdly expensive here, it not worth it buying Intel.

Using one at the minute in my mATX-Build. The fan is a bit loud, but I can hear it shifting speed when it has to. Running games + OBS & 4 monitors with multiple apps like spotify and discord + multiple browsers. No issues performance issues anywhere (970 gpu).

Cheap, 6 core 12 thread, low power consumption, no overheating with stock cooler, can handle over 100 fps in any games with only 6gb Graphics card (60fps is more than enough) - but I have issue with picking the motherboard, any suggestion would be great 3

Thank you, AMD. At the moment, for a cost of just $120 (USD) ($20 per core/$10 per thread), you can have a 6-core/12-thread CPU that rivals the multi-core performance of Intel's former entry-level HEDT (and exorbitantly priced) ~$450 ($75 per core/$37.50 per thread) Core i7-6800K. If you're still buying Intel's processors at their ludicrous prices, you're probably either uninformed, not very bright, or extremely biased (a "fanboy"). With just a 65 watt TDP, the Ryzen 7 1600 is also far more efficient than any 6-core desktop processor ever produced before it (especially the very inefficient 140 watt TDP i7-6800K) and 2nd in performance-per-watt only to AMD's newer Ryzen 7 2600. Sure, this processor launched at $220, but you can't really blame AMD too much when the competition was charging between $400-500 for similar performance. Here's to AMD for making the desktop processor market exciting once again.

Ive always used AMD because of their prices. After a decade of mediocre chips its nice to get more then what you paid for again! Im running this chip @4100Mhz with a GTX1070 @2002Mhz Core and 4600Mhz Mem clocks, 4X8GB G.Skill TridentZ 3200 running @3266Mhz, a 1TB Samsung Evo SSD and the GTX1070 is the weakest link. UserBenchmark scores 105 101 99, Outstanding for a budget chip.
