Average Bench: 43.9% (374th of 1059)

Based on 17,400 user benchmarks.  Device: 178BFBFF00600F20 Model: AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor

The AMD FX-4300 is a budget quad-core processor which unlike its predecessor, the Bulldozer FX-4100, is based on the Piledriver micro-architecture which was released in Q4 of 2012. Its base clock speed of 3.8 GHz boosts to 4.0 GHz in turbo mode and with appropriate cooling can be overclocked to speeds of over 4.5 GHz. Even though these numbers are impressive, the real world effective speed is only 66. This is ok for general computing and even gaming when coupled with an appropriate GPU. The user experience will, however, be noticeably snappier with a CPU that has better single-core performance. Whilst the FX-4300 is cheap, it’s not so differently priced from the hexa core FX-6300 which offers significantly improved multi-core performance. [Nov '14 CPUPro]

Below average average bench

The AMD FX-4300 averaged 56.1% lower than the peak scores attained by the group leaders. This isn't a great result which indicates that there are much faster alternatives on the comparison list.

Single Core Integer Speed 72.3Pts
Avg. Single Core Mixed Speed 68.3Pts

Good consistency

The range of scores (95th - 5th percentile) for the AMD FX-4300 is 21.2%. This is a relatively narrow range which indicates that the AMD FX-4300 performs reasonably consistently under varying real world conditions.

Used to run one, its reliable and cheap but lacking

This CPU is a good budget CPU for esport ganes like CSGO or League of Legends, but if you want to play games like Elite dangerous or Planet Coster, this CPU will be a wrong purchase

It's not a great card, but it'll do for most things. A decent enough CPU to be playing games at an Xbox 360/PS3 levels, especially if you're tweaking settings and the resolution to hit 60FPS of games of its generation. Not easy to recommend, but it's a very good CPU for general computing. Plus, going with this will have you hard pressed to go for the 6300 or 8300/8350 in the future.

The FX 4300 is a nice budget processor. Like it's brother the 6300, it has the same Single Core performance, altough worse Multicore performance. This means that, in gaming, the difference is barely notable; Only in multitasking needs they shows a little gap. I managed to put the FX 4300 to 4.9GHz using an air cooler, the CoolerMaster Hyper T4, with temperatures around 50C. The Motherboard is Gygabyte GA-78LMT-USB3. I can run most of the modern games without problems, paired with a Galax GTX 1050 TI.

low perfomance for that price

Waste of time, better products from both AMD and Intel for the same money. Only use if someone gives you it for free and you are desperate, can be useful to a degree if massively overclocked. Overclocking competitions is all it is good for and you won't shed any tears if it gets burnt. If it was a motorbike you would throw a match in the tank and put it out of its misery.
