The Intel Core i5-4570 is a relatively fast quad core desktop processor based on the 4th generation Haswell architecture which was launched in Q2 2013. With a base frequency of 3.2 GHz which can boost to a maximum of 3.6 GHz turbo, it has a good effective speed of 93, with a particularly impressive single-core of 98. Unlike the ‘K’ model processors, the i5-4570 is not unlocked, so the max overclocked speed is limited. Whilst this is a great CPU looking at the 4690K versus 4570 shows that the unlocked 4690K offers 20% more performance but at a 20% price premium. The i5-4570 also features integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 which is about 25% better than the previous HD 4000 Graphics but still not good enough to enjoy modern 3D games. [Nov '14 CPUPro]

MORE DETAILS

The i5-2500K is a second generation Sandy Bridge processor which is currently two generations old and nearly three years out of date. The many users that had the good sense to purchase this processor should feel in no hurry to upgrade as it's still no slouch, even by today's standards. The benchmark figures indicate that, even at stock clock rates, in terms of real-world performance this processor is approximately 20% slower than the best currently available, not bad considering its age. Given that the 2500K has an unlocked multiplier upping its performance by 10% with stock cooling should not pose much of a problem for the majority of owners. Here is a detailed performance comparison of the 2500K vs 4670K.  [Jul '13 CPUPro]
