It's not a beast by any means, but i wouldn't say it's useless. if you need a dirt cheap laptop for the most utilitarian usage, than i say grab one of these, max it out on cheap ram (8gbs ddr3) and an SSD. if you want more functionality, make it a linux machine.

Its legit trash. You can find it on trash picked computers. Can't even play youtube on its native resolution. Not worth the 4 digit price tag of the laptops back then not even 4 year before that
