The Intel Core i7-2370QM is a 2009 Sandy Bridge laptop CPU. With four physical cores and eight threads the 2370QM is able to handle single, dual and multi-core workloads equally well. Comparing the 2670QM and the 3630QM, its Ivy Bridge counterpart, shows that the newer Ivy Bridge processor is approximately 30% faster, has the same TDP (45 Watts) and shares a common socket (FCPGA988) with the 2370QM. An interesting comparison is between the 2670QM and the 2600K, these processors share the same micro-architecture (Sandy Bridge) yet the desktop 2600K is over 50% faster. The gap between Laptop and Desktop processors has been significantly narrowed in newer generations. [Mar '14 CPUPro]
