The Core i5-7500 is not due for release until January 2017 but one of our users has submitted benchmarks for it already. We only have one sample so these benchmark results are obviously preliminary. Comparing the 7500 and 6500 shows that average effective speed is up by an impressive 15%. Although price details are not yet available the i5-7500 is likely to cost around $210 which would be in line with the prices for previous generations of this i5. AMD's new Ryzen processors with Vega graphics look like they'll, once again, be the best value option for entry-level systems that don't have the budget or space for a discrete graphics card. Now based on the 12 nm process, they clock a bit higher out of the box, have roughly 3% higher IPC, and are unlocked for overclocking (just as every Ryzen processor is). AMD has even decided to solder both the CPU and GPU dies to the IHS on the Ryzen 5 3400G which will provide better heat dissipation. The integrated Radeon Vega GPU (iGPU) will provide enough graphics power for light gaming, even for many AAA games, but is probably best suited for today's so-called esports games and older or less demanding titles. [Jun '19 Vycyous]
