Average Bench: 51.6% (744th of 1442)

Based on 55,454 user benchmarks.  Device: 178BFBFF00600F20 Model: AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor

The AMD FX-4300 is a budget quad-core processor which unlike its predecessor, the Bulldozer FX-4100, is based on the Piledriver micro-architecture which was released in Q4 of 2012. Its base clock speed of 3.8 GHz boosts to 4.0 GHz in turbo mode and with appropriate cooling can be overclocked to speeds of over 4.5 GHz. Even though these numbers are impressive, the real world effective speed is only 66. This is ok for general computing and even gaming when coupled with an appropriate GPU. The user experience will, however, be noticeably snappier with a CPU that has better single-core performance. Whilst the FX-4300 is cheap, it’s not so differently priced from the hexa core FX-6300 which offers significantly improved multi-core performance. [Nov '14 CPUPro]

Pretty mediocre, especially since an Athlon II x2 640 can outperform it. It does "work" I suppose

Sert bien pour des tâches faibles mais tient bien la réputation des FX : Ils chauffent trop

Waste of time, better products from both AMD and Intel for the same money. Only use if someone gives you it for free and you are desperate, can be useful to a degree if massively overclocked. Overclocking competitions is all it is good for and you won't shed any tears if it gets burnt. If it was a motorbike you would throw a match in the tank and put it out of its misery.

Good

It was good back in the day but is slowing down on modern titles

2012 Processor for 40€, no need to expect any performance out of this one. FX series was known to be a total performance flop anyway, but it seems to handle being daily driver fine. I used AMD OverDrive to OC my CPU, while using just the stock fan. It got a solid 4.7 GHz which I think is pretty good for a stock fan and minding that my case only has one fan sucking air in, while PSU is doing most of the hot air exhausting.

Poor

It is very slow on modern strategy titles. It will run them, but expect AI turns to take a while. Perfectly functional as a desktop however. Very easy to overclock, mine set at 4.5Ghz.
