picked one up for $40 on ebay, swapped out an i7-920 on an asus p6t deluxe v2 and was able to clock it to 4k+ without any difficulty. I'll probably set it back to factory before i 'retire' my 1366 system to a retro gaming emulator for my kids to enjoy. Would recommend to anyone looking to sharpen their skills at all with regards to overclocking.

So good just to have as an old build 2nd PC to mess around with, throw a 1660Ti in there with it and its sweet 1080p 100fps in alot of modern games, very suprising. I mean only if you overclock the cpu, that is a must to get them 6 cores 12 threads singing, mine is sat at 4.15ghz all core. 6 sticks of 1600mhz ram for 24gb triple channel, so good to see. And the old X58 ASUS SABERTOOTH board is a nice to have from back then, and surprisingly still worth good money on ebay, getting that retro age kinda vibe, 13 years in pc tech is a lifetime. But ya, its just a fun thing, dont have to keep it spotless like the main rig, and o be honest if u sat me down infront of the same monitor without an fps counter i'd be hard pushed to tell u which is the new rig and whch the x58 rig, coz over 100fps which i still get at medium to high settings on the old rig, its hard to differentiate between the 2 rigs. if it was 60fps on the old one then yes, as the main rig is pulling 200+. But no if u can see ur fancy pc sat there and an old rig pulled good fps, u wud never know, X58 was cool man.
