Based on 21,853 user benchmarks.  Devices: BFEBFBFF000306C3, , 1FABFBFF000306C3, 1F8BFBFF000306C3 Model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz

The Intel Core i7-4700MQ is a high end mobile Haswell (2013) CPU. Despite sporting base and turbo clock speeds of 2.4/3.4 GHz, the 4700MQ has a maximum TDP of just 47 Watts. Although the 4700MQ is a quad core processor, hyperthreading technology allows the operation of eight virtual cores which enable the 4700MQ to deal with multi-core workloads with ease. The overall effective speed rating for the 4700MQ is 85.5 which is just 12% slower than the average of the current 9 group leaders. Since the group leaders include both desktop and server models this is a particularly impressive score for mobile processor with a TDP of just 47 Watts - it's almost as good as a reasonable desktop. [Oct '14 CPUPro]

Considering the computer this CPU is in is now 5 years old, I'm not complaining. It's not blazing fast, but I can run VMWare and other software that taxes it without issue. I would not reco a new purchase, but if you come across an older system for sale, it's still a workhorse.

Excellent performance, pretty low power draw. Demolishes everyday tasks and can also handle the beefy programs.
