Average Bench: 68% (445th of 1442)

Based on 128,482 user benchmarks.  Device: BFEBFBFF000306C3 Model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz

The Intel Core i5-4670K is the latest middle tier desktop processor from the fourth generation of Intel's Core range codenamed "Haswell". In terms of raw performance this processor slightly bests its predecessor the 3570K achieving approximately 10% higher server benchmark scores. In terms of real world performance the single core improvements are more relevant as more than two cores are rarely used for most typical consumer tasks and these have also improved by around 10% over the 3570K. It's not all good news though as the price increase of 14% more than offsets the performance improvements. This processor currently represents approximately the same value for money as its predecessor, the i5-3570K. [Jun '13 CPUPro]

runs everything well, works great overall

With Haswell a new socket is required – this will probably exasperate some, especially if they have only just moved to Intel Z77. But with this new LGA 1150 socket, there is still compatibility with LGA115X CPU coolers and of course dual DDR3 memory kits which should help lower the cost for those wanting to jump ship.

You get more performance and a better platform at roughly the same prices as Ivy Bridge a year ago. It’s not enough to convince folks who just bought a PC over the past year or two to upgrade again, but if you are upgrading from even a 3 year old machine the performance gains will be significant.

Comment

Excellent performing CPU and is now coming down in price a little with the release of the i5-4690K. My only real criticism so far is that it gets extremely hot when pushed to high clock speeds.—Sep '14

I recently just built a budget PC Upgrades. So then I bought a used 4670k for only IDR900k or roughly 64.24 USD.. it performs quite great. It still can play beam.ng drive at maximum settings with 30-40fps too!

Hmmmmm, a CPU a little old but so powerful for its age, if you overclock it at 4.20 GHz it becomes equal to an i5 7600k. On the other hand it’s really a shame because it’s in LGA 1150 and it only supports DDR3 but again it’s just old

Excellent

Very good performance and overclockability for a reasonable price.

Poor

I used to have this cpu paired with a gtx 780 and everytime I play any game my cpu is ALWAYS the bottleneck and ALOT. If your using this for a office pc then its amazing though, but I'ma gamer, I now have an i7-11700kf paired with a rtx 2070.

It's 4 years old and still great

Very good

Great performance for price (at time of purchase 3 years ago, now the 6600k eclipses it). Overclocking with stock cooler not recommended. Takes everything I throw at it in normal desktop use and gaming and has no problem with single player gaming, unless you plan on running multiple game servers simultaneously while playing a game on the system... Otherwise all around very good CPU.
